You know, kids grow. They grow and you can’t stop it. This is not a new concept. I know. But it’s dawning on me more now that my kids are getting older. My youngest is almost 7 and I honestly can’t believe it. How did this happen? Life goes on even when we want it to stop.
These girlies are growing up too. So fast. And I bet if you ask their Mom and Dad, they’d say they can’t believe their oldest is 3 1/2. It goes by so fast.
Katie’s getting baptized! 8 is certainly great!
Katie is my cousin’s daughter. She had a fever on the day we were going to do take her baptism pictures. So, we decided that we would take them during our family Christmas party. I brought a backdrop and set it up in front of my Mom’s sliding glass door in the back of the house. It worked great! I don’t shoot indoor-natural light very often but sometimes you just work with whatever you’re given. I think they turned out super cute.
7 days new! This gorgeous baby girl was perfect and slept through her entire session. And check out her eyelashes!!! They are to DIE FOR! So long and beautiful…LOVE!
I was asked by a division of Utah Valley University to take headshots of some of their employees. We had a great time over the course of 2 days. I was pleasantly surprised to hear many say that it wasn’t as bad as they thought it would be and that it was actually “fun!” Getting your headshots taken can be nerve wracking sometimes. But I try to break the ice by being an idiot. Then laughter ensues and everyone is relaxed enough to get a nice looking headshot.
What is your worth in the eyes of the One?
I was able to participate in an activity for a Young Women group in my area. They got their hair and make up done, brought their prom dresses and dresses from siblings and friends to wear, and then we had fun taking pictures. I was able to go to girl’s camp with these girls and the love you feel for somebody you serve, is the most humbling kind of love you will feel. I can honestly say that I love these girls.
Oh! Sweet Mandy. You know that birth story I posted below? She is that same sweet baby. 9 days old and sooooo dislikes being wrapped up. It’s always amazes me that they can have so much personality even when they are still so newly created.
I love it when the babies smile! Penelope was only 9 days old and a perfect little angel.
For past couple of years I’ve been asked to take pictures at Legacy Dance. A dance studio in Orem. They put on Beauty and the Beast this year in January, as well as an amazing night of dance performances in May. These are some super talented kids that drive to Orem from all over Utah County. You can find their website here, and their facebook page, with the most up to date information about performances here.
I was asked to take this Lone Peak Senior Prom group’s pictures. We had planned a beautiful outdoor location with green trees and beautiful backdrops.
The day of Prom came and so did the clouds. It decided to POUR rain! I’m pretty optimistic usually about the weather, but there was no way around this rain. One of the Mom’s from our group worked with me and we brainstormed a place to do some indoor shots. The chandelier at this place (right behind them) was amazing! It made for the best backdrop. And if you look close, you can see out the window, the dark, dark skies with rain, rain, and more rain.
We took the photos as fast as we could to get them onto their next destination. Their Senior Prom!
